Thanks for the quick reply, john.

Yup, I'm already on the 179.28's from nVidia, no go from either nTune or RivaTuner, they just revert back to the default clocks. 169.04 were the only ones I was able to overclock with.

I'm happy nvidia has finally released notebook drivers so we don't have to fool with desktop ones.. I just wished these new ones o/c'd...Some have said they were able to overclock on these, so I guess it just matters on the card/computer.

John, any idea on which oprom file I should edit? The original guide says oprom2, but then a user (forgot the name, started with a D) said it was oprom1 for 8400M GS...Any ideas? Thanks again bro.

Man, SFNICE to see the BIOS screen yet again and turn my computer into something usable again.

Want to say many, many thanks to mhp32 (check the first post of the thread for directions)

I'd like to actually elaborate on his instructions, cause it took me a while cuz I kept trying different things.

****YOU'LL NEED A USB FLOPPY FOR THIS****

    Step 1.) Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?3ccb9m0kv0m
Step 2.) Download the latest BIOS from the HP website for your computer.
Step 3.) Extract with WinRAR and rename your *.WPH to BIOS.WPH
Step 4.) Copy BIOS.WPH into the CRISDISK folder (from Step 1)
Step 5.) Plug in your USB Floppy and run CRISDISK.BAT and follow the instructions on the screen
Step 6.) Make sure battery is taken out of your dead laptop, and pull any peripherals and the AC cord.
Step 7.) Plug in the USB Floppy drive.
Step 8.) HOLD the Windows Key + B on your keyboard. While holding WIN+B, plug in your AC cord, and while still holding, WIN+B, hit the power button.
Step 9.) You'll see the floppy light come on, what's it comes on, LET GO of WIN+B.
Step 10.) You'll hear a loud set of beeps for the next minute or two while it reads the BIOS from your floppy. After two or three minutes, your laptop will shut off. Unplug the USB Floppy, pull out the AC cord, place in your battery, and finally plugin the AC cord, and Welcom back dead Laptop.

That's the LAST time I screw around with the BIOS like that, that's for SURE. Take care guys, hope this post was able to elaborate on mph's original one. PM me for questions, hopefully no one will need to do this.

glad it all worked out. if i get access to my old hp dv9700, ill test it to see if the new video drivers work on it. it's a 8600m gs 512.

hey john, I found out what it was. It's not that I did anything wrong, it's the problem with the DV2X00T bios's.

For ****s and giggles, I downloaded the BIOS you, Knivez, etc used for your 9700 notebooks, three different onces, F.23, F.51, and F.58. I loaded them all onto Phoenix BIOS Editor, and I got the same alerts as mine (Unsupported module etc) EXCEPT the DV2000 bios's bring up the error "Error in RLS Module 3!" at the very end, this is why I had no idea what Knivez was talking about with the whole "Main, System, Configuration" and changing Main to Main1 because that screen doesn't show up in my BIOS.

That's all it was, if I had the 9700, this thing would have went smooth. Pretty bummed that you can't do this BIOS hack on the DV2000/DV2500's. I'm gonna mess around a little more and see if I can find some older BIOSes for my system.

Thanks for all your help, john.

***REMINDER: If you have a DV2000T or DV2500T ---------- DO NOT TRY THIS HACK, YOUR BIOS WILL FAIL. ****
