8600K + Cooler Master Hyper T2

    Hey guys, i am planning to buy between a i5 8400 and i5 8600K, i have a cooler master hyper t2 ( which i am not planning to change for the moment) and i am wondering if he will be able to handle the 8600K with and without OC ?

    With that air cooler, it should handle stock clocks. Probably be up in the 70c range though. Might even be able to do a couple mhz overclock for a short period of time, ie; running a short benchmark.

    I had an air cooler on my 8700k when I first bought the set up in my signature and I couldn't do any overclocking for any length of time. I would get over 80c immediately if I tried 5.0ghz clock. But that was with a generic cooler.

    Now if you wanted to stick with air cooling, there are some decent options out there. @Mr. Fox had his on an air cooler while waiting for an RMA on his Riing 360 and was able to overclock his 8700k to 5.0ghz (I believe).

    Yes, that is correct, Brother @KY_BULLET. It was much better than I expected, but not as good as the AIO. Liquid beats air hands down. But, if someone is on a really tight budget a good air cooler will do in a pinch.
