can you tell me exactly which zbook model you have?

also your zbook is eDP but i think our 8570w with the normal 1080 screen is LVDS ?? only the dreamcolor screens are eDP right?

I have zbook 17 g4 fully equipped. The dreamcolor screens are not as great as people make them out to be I've had dead pixels and all kinds happen to mine

i dont care about their quality. i just want edp screen so that a 1060m will work.

i am also thinking of going 980m . i can find ones for 350Euro . i think they wouyld work ok but i dont know if i will have to buff the cooling more...
after seeing benches , a 980m is the same as a 1060m ... so why the hassle going for a 1060m (except the lower TDP of the 1060)

do you have a thread for your 1060m upgraded zbook? so i can see pics and stuff..

    Zbook 15 G1 aka HP 1909

The original dreamcolor screens are 50 pin LVDS IIRC as a result Zbooks up to gen 2 iirc need an eDP to 50pin LVDS converter to use Dreamcolor Screens

Additionally the dreamcolor screens used after the 2nd gen zbooks use a totally different screen that has a smaller color space

HP 8560w - Best AMD GPU Upgrade?

Thanks to everyone in this thread for their incredible work including AlienHack and ChanceJackson.

Most of the thread revolves around NVidia cards - probably because they are the most available and patchable.

For various reasons (ease of use in Linux) I want to upgrade the video card to the best performing AMD Card that will natively fit MXM 3.0a? - FirePro or Radeon.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I have spent hours searching for results but I am assuming that I am just not using the right key words or the results I am looking for do no exist.

I am committed to posting results if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thoughts?

There is info and clips of successful upgrades to:
    FirePro M4000
    FirePro M5100
    FirePro M5950
    FirePro М6100

for this laptop. If you manage to find M6100 and upgrade to it, would be very interested in the 3dmark "Fire Strike" test score.

    Hello,

I have 8570W, 1920x1080 FHD WVA (Not a Dreamcolor IPS, just classic TN screen)

Is it possible to upgrade the laptop to Nvidia Quadro M2000M ? I can get one for about 190€, but i am worried after i saw this:
