    Looks like SoundOfLenses directed light on to the screen (not through it)

    @ChanceJackson
    Would you (or anyone else of course) be so kind nice to answer me the following (as I'm a bit confused about the eDP vs. LVDS and DC vs. non-DC thing). In another thread you posted
    "The way I understand it all dreamcolors from Zbook g1 and earlier are all LVDS and in the case of Z books connects to an adapter that connects to eDP of the notebook "
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...m-3-0b-higher-spec-video-cards.768347/page-15
    Does that mean that in the case of an 8570w there is always an LVDS display that connects to LVDS on the motherboard regardless of dreamcolor display or not?

    Did anyone ever managed to get a GTX 965M work with an 8570w with dreamcolor display? Maybe adix87 you had a dreamcolor one?

    You are LEGEND buddy!!! That was it! I was able to see at the beginning because it was daylight and the laptop was facing the window of the room. As soon as it got dark, I was no longer able to see. I tested the soundoflenses method and I am once again able to see. It would be royal pain in the arse to get the IDs and setup the modified ini driver in these conditions but I hope I would manage. Thanks a ton!!!

    The following worked for me to get the driver installed:

    File: nvhmi.inf

    Hardware ID
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1427&SUBSYS_1631103C

    [Manufacturer]
    %NVIDIA_A% = NVIDIA_Devices,NTx64.10.0,NTx64.10.0...14310

    [NVIDIA_Devices.NTx64.10.0]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.1427.1631.103C% = Section047, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1427&SUBSYS_1631103C

    [NVIDIA_Devices.NTx64.10.0...14310]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.1427.1631.103C% = Section048, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1427&SUBSYS_1631103C

    [Strings]
    NVIDIA_DEV.1427.1631.103C = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M"

    @silverchairbg
    Congratulations and have fun!
    As I'm also interesting in purchasing the 965M could you please tell me:
    Does your 8560w have a dreamcolor or non dreamcolor display?
    Do you have an MXM3.0a or b card?
    What kind of cooling do you use?

    Thanks, I haven't had the time to play around with it yet, but surely will. Mine is a TN (Non DC). The slot in 8560w/8570w is for MXM 3.0a, so I purchased 3.0a card. Haven't made any changes to cooling and do not plan to. I was using k2000m till now and according to specs it has the same TDP as the 965m 2nd rev. Since I do not plan on overclocking, I don't expect overheating issues.
