Turns on for about a second then does it again some moments later. Is there a way around this? It's not too annoying, but I remember someone mentioning theirs was doing something similiar.

mine does the same thing and its a np8130. It already qualifies as background noise for me and i don't even notice it any more. i think you can use msi afterburner or speedfan to adjust the fan to your liking.

is this a temp thing? cycling on/off to move the heated air out of the case?

if so, hopefully having it set up on the sf-19 will prevent it from doing this :) even if i have to turn on the cooler, it's silent on the lower fan speeds :)

It stays on intermittently after exiting a game or bench for me until it cools again, try forcing full fans for a minute seems to get itto stop for a while.

The fan really does cycle a lot. But it is a 15-inch laptop with some fairly high-end hardware. I guess that's the price you pay. I've gotten used to it.

It's like white noise - I don't even notice it. In fact, the only time I do is when I see threads/comments like this one :p

I've noticed it since day one. Turns on when the temps of the GPU reach either 38C or 40C and cool back down to 37C. This happens over and over again. At least now I know that I am not the only one who is having this issue.

I haven't noticed this at all. Mine's pretty much dead silent when doing light stuff like browsing the web and watching movies.

Did I get the unique unit that has absolutely no quirks?
