    *620m , sorry for typo

Ok guys, I got a envy 15 with a 820qm in it, and the 4830m. I became curious if it could handle the 620qm my m17x-r2 had, so I switched the processors.. The m17 accepted the i7 quad, by the envy would just show a dark screen, with no sounds of no nothing, if not instantly turn off. ( Yes, I had the heatsink back with thermal paste).

So, does this envy 15 have any chance of accepting the 620qm? Thinking it has integrated graphics in the cpu itself, I think that'd be the problem, if not an updated bios. Any insights, my friends? Thank you. :)

Core i7-620QM? I have never heard of it, more like it doesn't even show up on the Intel Processor List.

Didn't think the 1st gen envy supported non quad core i7s and i5s. AFAIK those chips need the hm55 chipset to work with integrated graphics and that chipset is only available in the gen 2 envy. The first gen came with the pm55 chipset which doesnt support the i7-6xx and i5 chips.
