If you work out a price for the memory, I could be interested. If it's reasonably plug and play for the M18x.

Also, I have an LCD assembly for a Ranger and some spare GPU's to test so a chassis with motherboard and CPU would be handy, if that's a possibility.

Should be plug and play for the most part, some people claimed otherwise but those may have been non xm chips

I also have interposer cable for HDD, though its for the Ranger, not sure if those are compatible with the R2 though.

Unfortunately they went with a weird design on the M18x with a ribbon cable attached to three HDD interposer connectors. It’s a little too fragile

Which is better between the two?

    The i7-4980HQ or the i7-4940MX ?

I'd say the MX since it's unlocked. I'm not sure if the HQ is. The HQ has a higher boost clock I think, which is good for people who don't want to overclock. I haven't looked up the specs but maybe the L3 cache is different.

No I was wrong. Same boost clock. The MX does have more L3 cache and it's unlocked

If you can get it to work, easily the 4980HQ.

4980hq is the better chip, trick is getting it to work in the laptop, doesnt work in my Ranger but works on my t440p (minus mDP)

Im considering selling it as I dont really Iris Pro for the t440p and have a spare 4700mq sitting around somewhere. I just use it for web surfing, writing, and a bit of work.

The 4980hq is better mostly due to the L4 cache, and can be turbo'd to 4.6Ghz without mod.
