Just posted our question in the MX Linux Forum:
    https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=43192
Anyone else have an idea of where to go from here?
Apparently using a usb wifi dongle solves the problem of no wifi.....
    searching for chipmunks continues....

It's a waste of USB 3 ports. Maybe put one in the lid?

I have one lower with a bad battery. I'll take a peek in the upper.

Ordered a wifi dongle that should arrive tomorrow before heading to Delaware.
MX forum members suggested Terminal commands:

inxi -N (This revealed Network: Card: Failed to Detect Network Card!)

sudo lshw -c network (This revealed nothing)
nmcli radio wifi on ; rfkill list all (This revealed nothing)

Assuming you meant keyboard?? I occasionally have to boot twice and always wait for 30 seconds in grub for the machine to think about it. If keyboard does not work, pnp 0501 is not in the kernel/dmesg. Maybe a timing issue?

Yes, it's something to do with booting into the little guy. The usb is persistent and allows saved changes on the CF-53.
Problem is little paint ball when loads it is different than the CF-53. The changes (additions) are NOT saved. Also, the custom password I chose during the usb set up are not the passwords that work when it asks you for root password to add a program. You have to use demo for user password and root for root password. It's a conundrum. On a good note, the wifi nano came and wifi now works. I'm thinking of just installing MX Linux 16.1 directly from the live usb, and wiping windows. Edit. I just installed Linux on the little guy, completely wiping windows (no dual boot). It's bricked now unless I can get a way to re-install windows...
    Time will tell.

A standard windows bootable usb 8 or 10 will work.
Set the 3E boot order to USB HDD as 1.
    eMMC card0 as 2

That should easily boot to the windows usb stick.
