Hey guys, I've been browsing Acer drivers site for any notebook that has Radeon 5650 to see if Acer hasn't released some new ATI drivers with updated Intel driver. This is what I've found under TravelMate 6594G:

VGA AMD VGA Driver 8.840.7.3000 218.4 MB 2011/10/13

By date, it seems to be newer than the one I found last time under 4820tg. The thing is, 6594G has got Core i7 so I'm not sure if it sports switchable graphics like my/our good old 3820tg so it all comes down to whether that driver is likely have the Intel driver as well, or just a standalone 5650 catalyst?

@maikvalberg no that is not dual channel. Dual channel only works when memory size and frequency are the same.

@sumdumguy It has an i7-640M which has Intel HD Graphics, but AFAIK it does not have switchable graphics, might be wrong on that. So I wouldn't advise (for now) to use that driver.

Hmm 8.840.7 seems to be released somewhere between Catalyst 11.3-11.5 since it does not correspond to any driver I know of with that driver version. A cursory checking of the files indicates that it should work with our 3820TG, 4820TG-only be damned, although I don't have my 3820TG with me at the moment so I can't check if the hardware IDs match. If they don't, just add them to the inf files and it should work.

I doubt there's any difference between them. I've just tried and they all contain Intel driver build 2202.

anyone who uses the digital output should appreciate this :
anyway to use hotkeys to switch sound output? - Windows 7 Forums

A program which allows hotkey switching between audio devices so you can switch back to speakers with alt 2 when not using digital output.

If you read this bronsky, might be a good idea to add it to the first post.
