I’m not technically inclined with regards in software-hardware compatibility, so could someone please answer this question for me. Could I install a windows xp 32-bit in my compaq laptop which is a mobile turion 64 without any problem? Thanks

Yes, 32-bit computing is backwards compatible with 64-bit processors, with very little if any performance loss. This is much like the jump from 16 to 32 bit computing years ago.
A 32-bit version of windows also means you can run the much older 16-bit programs without a hitch.

It's not like that jump. It's like jumping from 32 to 16. Why would you do that?

    What do you mean?
The AW m17x will have an x64 capable processor. Is that what you are asking?

Actually it would be 64 bit CPU's are backward compatible with 32 bit OS. Your point is taken but said backward. ;) :D Or else you would call it forward compatible. You know which came first? The chicken or the egg?

And my latest pet peeve, don't put an "s" at the end of backward. Incorrect. ;)
