I had to open the laptop casing and used this to wipe the normally hidden edges of the sensitive surface of the touchpad with a slightly wet cloth. After reassembling and starting, the touchpad seemed working as the pointer responded to the touch. I had to re-attach the keyboard. After that the touchpad was not recognized. The connection seems fine but I re-plugged it. There is a small glossy convex surface on the bottom (back) of the touchpad. Should this be open or covered? Should I need a replacement, how do I find compatible ones?
