It will work as 4K@30Hz instead of 4K@60Hz. 30Hz is OK for movies, terrible for everything else.

Hi. But this cable if you read the details of it say 4k 60 hz though. So why is it 4k @ 30 hz?

Yea i was told if you use laptop with a tv with 30 hz, its basically unusable.

Your laptop's USB Type C port has DisplayPort 1.2 (DP1.2) output. If the cable in question is passive, it will do 4K 30Hz from DP1.2, and 4K 60Hz from DP1.4. If it is active, it will do 4K 60Hz even from DP1.2. The cable seems to be passive, but I may be mistaken. You can come to a store with your notebook and cable, and try it with a TV, to know for sure.

Hey man. I bought a 32' 4k monitor but haven't received it yet.

Is this what i need to buy if i want to connect all 3 monitors to my dell xps 15 9550 laptop?

I will be using my two 24' 1920x1200 monitors... and also like to use the 32' 4k monitor together.

@Drew1 try with cables you already have, before purchasing anything.

Hey. Well the cables i have are

    usb-c to display port cable

    usb-c to hdmi cable

    hdmi to hdmi cable

I'm using 2 of those cables right now at the moment with my two 24' 1920x1200 monitors. The usb-c to display port cable and the hdmi to hdmi cable.

When i receive the 32' 4k monitor... i know i would be using the usb-c to display port cable with it. Then with one of the monitors i have, i will use hdmi to hdmi cable. But if i want to use the other monitor i currently have... what cable would i need for it? Because i know with what i have now...i can only connect max 2 monitors to my laptop.

So i want to know what cable/adapter i would need once my 32' 4k monitor arrives.

    @Drew1
seems the most straightforward option to me. Your USB type C port won't be able to drive a 4K display at 60Hz and an FHD display simultaneously, in my opinion.

I'm confused by this. So if i use my usb-c to displayport cable with the new 32' 4k monitor... it will get 60hz. Then i use my hdmi to hdmi cable with one of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors... that would work right?

But if i wanted to use both of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors with the 32' 4k monitor... it won't work? Or it won't work with the 3 cables i currently have? Because you say usb 3.0 to hdmi adapter for one of your lower resolution displays... i already have that right? The usb-c to hdmi cable? When you say usb 3.0 to hdmi adapter... is that the same as the one i currently have?

Then what do i use with the 4k monitor then to get it hooked up?

    Thanks.

Nope, I mean USB 3.0 Type A to HDMI adapter. You don't have one, yet.

This way, you'll have USB C cable for 4k display, HDMI to HDMI for first FHD, and USB A to HDMI for second FHD.

Hi. Do you mean in the last sense USB C TO HDMI for second FHD?

Well I do have a usb-c to hdmi cable i posted... but that doesn't work because it isn't 3.0? So the one i have is 1.4?

Can you give me a link to it on amazon.com?

    Is it one of these?
