Can The Google Pixel Slate Beat The iPad Pro?

The Google Pixel Slate is Google’s answer to the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface devices. The Slate takes some of it’s cues from the Pixel Book (Chromebook) but packs it into a removable tablet style form factor. So is the Google Pixel Slate any good? Can it compete with the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface?

I was gifted an iPad Pro 11" with 256gb storage this past Christmas from a good friend. Very kind gesture! I have an iPhone 8 and use this as my "iPod" and store some movies on it to watch when I travel. To be honest I have found a great use for the iPad as a second computer display when I am on the road. It works great in that capacity.

Its the old version of the ipad pro right? If so, that one is fine. The new one is the bent from the box monstrosity. I love my ipad 9.7" 2018 model. I have the 128gb LTE model and I take it everywhere with me because it's light and easy to use. I have it "microsoft'ed" ha ha. I use all Microsoft software on it for my daily things like email, web browsing etc. I only have the ipad over the surface go because of texture. Even in emulation, texture is not good. Until Microsoft can get a similar magazine service, I am on the ipad.

I agree. But that does not change the fact that it's so fragile (like most every new apple product) that I could not spend money on it. HA HA.

Hi guys, I stopped paying attention to the iPad Pro since the release as I didn't know it was prone to bending easily and Apple isn't taking responsibility for the design flaw - it's not rigid enough to support weight against it when in a backpack or being used 1 handed or any twisting might hold the bend. It looks like the next month after I last posted about the iPad Pro - Dec 2018 is when it started be known.

Here's a useful video with Apple Genius Bar footage where they deny coverage to an owner and the owner was fortunate enough to have purchased Apple Care ($129) so the replacement was only an incident charge of $49 instead of the normal owner with only the standard warranty - $499 charge for replacing a "bent" iPad Pro. Every new owner should be aware of these details so they are covered.

Check out the comments in these videos on YT for more reports from owners.

I never had a bending problem with the earlier iPad's or Android tablets, or Android phones, so this is a bit of a shock that it's currently a problem with the 2019 model of the iPad Pro's.

GizmoSlip has a couple more videos besides this one on the subject in the past 2 weeks, check out his channel:

https://youtu.be/AwQVWp7wKmg MY IPAD PRO WAS BENT SOMEHOW? I decided to take it in for repair at the Apple store. I didn't know what to expect, but I was a little surprised at the outcome. Did your iPad Pro bend? Be sure to let everyone know in the comments down below! Do you think iPad Pro's are too easily bent? Too flimsy? Take the poll in my video! Stay tuned for part 2 of my bent iPad Pro fiasco coming soon!

I bought a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 for my parents to replace their 10-year-old laptop that was running a Core2 Duo Processor. After giving them a tutorial on how to use it for web, video, and MS Office applications, along with an "iPad for Seniors" magazine, they were off to the races. In the four months they've owned it, I've not had to field a single tech support phone call about that device. Over the same period of time, I've had to fix issues with their Windows 10 desktop three times. I'm strongly considering replacing that machine with a Mac Mini, but I don't have the money right now to do so.
