I think the biggest disappoint for anyone who buys the new RBP will be the very low performance / cost ratio. Given that the RBP17's 1080 runs at about 1070 performance... While I am more BGA tolerant than some, this machine's existence smells of BGA abuse to me =P

I didn't say as much but that's half the reason I figured the other one wouldn't perform well. Not so much the BGA but what would give anyone the impression that something that thin with a 1080 will cool well at all?

I want a Panasonic Toughbook with Nvidia GTX 1080 and skylake cpu. Should fit in that chassic like a charm. And of course 100hz screen.

Since progress is being made in roll-up displays, how about this? A laptop screen that's like roll-up window-shade. Preferably rolling from the side--that way the display can mimic multiple-monitor setups w/o the bezels. Project Valerie but w/o the hard form-factor.

That would be sweet. Or one huge external roll up display so you don't have whatever it rolls into as a permanent part of the computer.

    That would be some awesome!

If those will come with enough brightness, we will be able to enjoy a portable home cinema! :D

I was promised non-projector TV walls in like the '90s. Maybe it will happen soon with this tech. :)

how would we go about doing that? i know eurocom asked so far, have you sent request to them yet? the next gen HEDT CPU got turbo 3.0 so its pretty promising if we can get a good bios that supports it.
