I have a 2014-vintage Canon Pixma MG6620 inkjet "all-in-one" WiFi printer, bought new from a Microcenter in Cambridge, MA, back in 2014. To this day, it produces perfect text & photo prints. I typically scan photos @ 300 dpi, but sometimes, 600 max dpi. Always stunning results, even today, 8/8/2021. I know how to apply color balance / filtering, etc. Print at 300 dpi (inkjet priinting @ 600 dip doesn't make any sense).

All i've done since 2014 is never let the cartridges run dry, I ran the clean cycle once every month, and kept the Canon firmware current.

    I'm hanging onto this one.

    Hi, Fishion -

    Thanks for the response.

I've never tried to refill the ink cartridges for my printer, so I've never had to deal this issue, "how to defeat the low ink print blocking". Refilling inkjet cartridges = not worth the hassles / time / mess / money.

I always buy cartridges in bulk, from "Arthur Imaging" on Amazon - 22 cartridges: (6 Large Black, 4 Small Black, 4 Cyan, 4 Yellow, 4 Magenta), typically runs around $20 USD total on Amazon. That's less than what Canon charges for ONE black cartridge. 44 cartridges (22 in the printer, 22 stored upright in a cool, dark closet) will keep me printing for more than 2 years, on average (I print a test page once a week).

I get excellent printing results with this ink, especially with photos - just need to do a little color profile / saturation tweaks.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this printer...if you can find one (it's from 2014, which makes it ancient), maybe on eBay. Canon PIXMA MG6620 is the full model name.

Here's one for sale on eBay (used, obviously, but excellent condition):
