    Toyota last a long time, my previous AE92 rolla was very reliable.

    I wouldnt get a car with rust though.

    I don't mean to hijack this thread, but this reminded me of another car for sale I found: a 1982 Audi 4000 S for $1500. It has less than 75,000 miles on it, and has a new starter, battery, etc. The exterior is in great shape (good paint, no rust). The only thing I noticed that was "wrong" was that the interior was rather dirty. Really the only possible deal-breaker that I see is the year (1982) and possibly getting parts in case something does go wrong.

    Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

    And be careful of an 82, i've seen a '84 that the mile counter (what's that called again?) only did 5 digits;
    It read: 54,867
    When it actually had: 354,867

    It has a 6-digit counter: 0741XX (I forgot what the last 2 digits were).

    Sorry if I made you upset by hijacking this thread. I should have made my own thread, I know........:( :eek:

    in that case, carfax it, and make sure the counter was not rolled back
