    Tried searching to no avail.

To this point, I've just been downloading updated 1060 drivers from Dell support as they've become available. I compared with the versions available directly from Nvidia and the Dell drivers seem to be unique. Was wondering how many have updated directly from Nvidia (because Dell typically isn't current), and if there are any associated problems with doing so.

Always better to use nvidia instead of from Dell.

But sometimes during the release of a VERY new system, only Dell drivers work.

So you either get more compatibility (dell) or official driver (nvidia).

I spoke about this with a Dell support tech last week. His advice was to always go with Nvidia driver updates however, he clarified that the only differences are support for the latest games so if you aren't purchasing new games you can stick with the working drivers you already use.
