17 R4 - Damaged EDP connector MOBO - Please help- :(

    Hey man, just stumbled across this post and I see that you were able to fix this problem!

    I recently disassemble my 17 R5 due to my fan making a lot of noise. I pulled out the EDP plug and it ripped off the little prongs on the motherboard lol! May I ask which part you were able to get and how you were able to put it on the board?

    this just happened to me :( how were u able to find someone qualified to fix yours?

    Where do you live? Are you in or near a big city?

    If you have any electronics, TV, or radio repair experts nearby, they probably have the right tools and experience, or can point you to someone that does. It is not super difficult for someone with the right equipment and some experience with SMD soldering.

    Cost me around $130 conversion to USD,
