    Hi

Does anyone know if Lenovo has any near-term plans to introduce a 1600 x 900 resolution IPS display option for the X1 or X220?

    Thanks.

There is no IPS for the X1 series with its 13.3 inch ultrathin panel, there could possibly be a HD+ LCD in the next iteration of the X1. Not sure about the HD+ LCD in the X220, if there will be one then most likely it would be a TN one.

I'd be more hopeful about 1600x900 IPS in the T430s. It's pretty clear that it's too dense on a 12.5" screen for too many people, so it's not economically viable for Lenovo. On the X1, maybe, but like lead_org said, the screen is too thin for IPS. Maybe OLED in a few years on a machine like that, or a TN more immediately. But I'm holding out hope for it on the T430s, and that we'll be catching wind of it before the holiday sales are over.

OLED would be good, the X1 LCD quality isn't that bad in terms of colour and viewing angle. The only thing i dislike about it is the 1366 x 768 resolution, the 1600 x 900 is much better fit for this screen size.
