    Hi All,

I have been using a fanless Asus UX305 and have been happy with it. I don't need maximum CPU power and with the SSD, it is fast enough. I'd like to get something with a larger screen and supporting more than 8GB of RAM but still stay silent. This machine will run Debian Linux.

    So my wants:

    1. 15.6" screen. Prefer matte.

    2. 16GB or more RAM capable.

    3. Fanless or ability to turn off fan using software and underclock CPU.

    All suggestions much appreciated!

Difficult to impossible to do all the above. Closest you get is Panasonic Toughbooks in fanless. But they're expensive new, have expensive parts and accessories. By and large the main passively cooled 15.6" screen options are ruggedized laptops. And #2 is hardest to find of the above things you want.
