Do you have the part nrs. of both screens? That is, not the Dell inventory numbers, but those on the stickers on the back of the display.

The original screen is the one that is installed and working now. I really don't want to go through the hassle unless you really need it. It is the screen that came with my Alienware 17 (there's no rev #) and is a 1600x900 matte display. The high gloss 17.3" FHD screen that I bought from Dell has the following numbers on the larger label attached to the plastic wrap:
    1240 17.3" FHD
    LTN173HT02 Samsung
    5WCI00605I
    DP/N OGN36T
    CN-OGN36T-21323-2A6-0040-A00

And on the smaller label stuck to the metal:
    LJ96-05562A
    LTN173HT01-301
    Y12A053TTMP9RA852

If you really need the numbers on the 1600x900, I'll take it apart tomorrow night.

Nah, that's not necessary; run MonInfo and copy/paste the 'Raw data' section of the current screen.

Using that we can trace back what is likely the correct screen series, which should be sufficient. Normally a review on Notebookcheck would've been fine, but none reviewed a 900p model.
