I plan on getting extra RAM for my W520, is there much difference between the 10600 and the 12800?

The cost is an additional $10 for a stick of 8GB.

Is it worth getting the faster RAM?

You'll never be able to tell the difference outside of certain benchmarks, especially since the W520 doesn't rely on integrated graphics. So it's up to you whether or not it's worth it.

    I went for 2x 8GB PC12800 since PC15000 only has 2x 4GB. But that's just me. Chump change :D

More RAM is always better than faster RAM.
