the card is not faulty. it means the vbios that has been flashed onto the 1060 is a gsync vbios and it's not compatible with your laptop.

don't fret, you just need to find another 1060 vbios and flash it.

I had a similar issue when installing the 1070 into my P870DM-G where it persisted from the BIOS screen to Windows and I am assuming it's doing the same here. flashing the vbios with another vbios should fix it. try any of the MSI labeled files here:

Unfortunately you only have 2 options.

EDIT: don't expect gsync to work because it won't. the motherboard does not contain the GPU ID to make it work anyway.

EDIT 2: Use the official MSI 1060 vbios in the post below.

Anyway, try and check what vbios version you have and flash the latest version. hopefully it should go away. if you're successful then we can add this to the list of upgrades that can be done safely.

Scratch the techpowerup link, how about trying the latest version from MSI:

    https://us.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT62VR-Dominator-6th-Gen-GTX-1060.html#down-firmware

try the non-gsync version since gsync doesn't work. they should come with nvflash so it should be easy to do.

So yeah, try doing this first before freaking out. Let us know if you need help with using nvflash because there's no point in freaking out if the fix is so easy.

    try the other version.

I went back to find which vbios i used to flash my 1070 with and it was indeed a gsync vbios and it worked fine.

You have to flash a compatible vbios for the card. After that it's smooth sailing.
