Re: ThinkPad X1
If past history holds, there's always one huge gotcha when it comes to having an ultra thin laptop. It's not like ultra thin laptops are new, it's just they've all flopped in the past because of some major sacrifice you make such as a laughably under powered processor, terrible battery life or lack of useful ports. Compromises also have to be made with the keyboard too, key travel is usually shortened. But who knows, maybe the X1 will overcome all of these challenges. My money would still be on the X220 as a better option for most though.

Re: ThinkPad X1
I'm intrigued.
The X220 was on my shopping list, but I'd definitely consider this instead if there are additional runtime possibilities.
That is, unless Sony gets their finger out first...| Tablets: Quite a lot | Notebooks: A lot | Desktops: A lot more | Servers: I think you see the pattern | Laptop Bags: Even more |

Re: ThinkPad X1
engadget is saying $2,920 as a price. Even if that's the highest of the high-end configuration, that's NUTS.

Re: ThinkPad X1
We'll see about the new Z... but in any case, the new Z should have thunderbolt and that leaves the door wide open for DIY ViDocks, etc (not to mention their own external GPU/ODD solution).
Is anyone else disturbed by the large bezel here? I mean... that turns this 13.3" into a 14" laptop... except you dont get the extra screen size... what a rip (reminds me of the Vaio SB/SA)Current:
Dell XPS 13 - i5-3337U | 13.3" 1080p | 8GB RAM | 256GB SSD | Intel HD4000
LPC-Digital - Clevo P151EM/Sager NP9130 | 15.6" 1080p (95% gamut) | i7-3610M | 4x4GB RAM | Nvidia 670M

Re: ThinkPad X1
I can't get over the price they have this listed for. They should really be more agressive on pricing to compete with MacBook air.
Primary - T410s
Secondary - MacBook Pro (rarely gets used)

Re: ThinkPad X1
Looking at the leaked pictures and black bezel under the glass, it sure appears there's enough room to have gone to a 14". And I really question the edge-to-edge glossy move along with a 13" 1366x768 res screen. It should be 1600x900 at least.
Oh wait, I don't know squat.
