Stopping the annoying popup when switching between speed & stamina on Vaio VPC Z1
I have a Vaio VPCZ13 and whenever the system tries to switch from speed to stamina or vice versa, I almost always get a popup stating "To change the performance setting, you must close the following applications:". The pop-up includes a "make change" button and I've never had any problems (such as blue screens or anything) clicking on "make change" without closing the offending programs. Given this, I'd been looking for a way to turn off this irritating popup.
There is a way to do it...
1) you need to make one change to the registry:
Change:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Hybrid\DisableUI from 1 to 0
2) reboot.
You'll now have an additional nvidia "notification" icon in the task bar.
3) If you click on the new nvidia icon, it brings up a small floating window (shown below).
4) Click on the "override blocking programs" link on the floating window.
5) add the programs that cause the hybrid pop-up and click on "don't block".
That will fix it - the sony hybrid pop-up message takes this "white list" into account, and so the programs in the white list will not cause it to appear. So you can minimize how frequently that pop-up appears.
Note that I don't know whether it works on all versions of the hybrid graphics driver. I have the one from this thread installed:
My discoveries on Vaio Z’s Hybrid Graphics
I hope someone finds that useful!

I fixed it by not moving the switch
Nice guide.
