Re: Vaio owners be extra careful with your power port!
i think the problem arises with the L shaped plug in, if turned vertically it lifts the whole laptop on an angle putting all of the weight on the power input.

Wow.. I tripped over the power cord of my Z for like twice already. The plug comes right out like the megasafe on Macs. So far, my power port is still quite sturdy...

Re: Vaio owners be extra careful with your power port!
The Z is definitely the Mercedes of the Sony line -- this additional safety feature just confirms my impression.
Now if Sony would give us the screen size of the FW with the design superiority of the Z, we'd be in hog heaven.
Sony's greatest number of sales in laptops is in the FW and AW lines, I believe. So perhaps within a year, say, we'll see the computer of our dreams!
In the meantime, the FW is excellent, but there are these things like the power cord input to look out for. Still beats having to watch a bluish cast to all whites on a Dell, anyway, or their slot drive from hell in several retail models, etc.

"The Z is definitely the Mercedes of the Sony line -- this additional safety feature just confirms my impression." Pardon my ignorance but the Sony Z has a safety feature on the power input? What is this feature? Thanks.
