Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
Are you willing to try to update your VCC to the F13 version? Definitely make a system image before doing that.
Edit: I was assuming you have the same as anseio - 4.1.1.07160 - do you? The F13 ver. is 4.3.0.05310. Btw, in case anyone is confused, neither the EU nor the US update changes the VCC version. I was surprised when I installed the EU update because, unlike the US one, it is labeled as a VCC update, so you would expect it to update the version number. So the above numbers are the base versions of VCC on the F11 and F13 - not differences from before and after the update.
I know Sony doesn't always get their Marketing right, but this is what was on the official Sony F series page back when the F11 was new on Sony: "Unique to Sony, Motion Reality HD and Video Optimizer ensures smoother, more cinematic playback of Full HD movies..." and it was also in their press releases for the F11. So, a few options are 1) it's already built in on the F11 but is not a setting that can be turned off so it doesn't show up in VCC 2) Sony got their press releases and webpages wrong 3) the F11 and it's GPUs can support it but this update is configured to only take effect on F13s. 4) The update is taking effect on the F11 but is not showing up as a setting because of the different VCC versions.Last edited by jpride; 16th July 2011 at 03:18 PM.

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
Since you said the update takes effect on a F11 but the option doesn't show up, I will, for the sake of my system, won't update my VCC to the F13-version.
I DON'T have the same version I've got version 4.1.0.10160. I searched for the 4.1.1.07160 version but when I try to install it says that a newer version is already installed.?
I will uninstall and install tomorrow.
EDIT: Apparently I do have the latest version. When I look for the version number of VCC in VCC, it gives me an older then when I look for the number in the uninstall programs window of windows. There it says that I have the 4.1.1.07160.Last edited by JefDeLathouwer; 17th July 2011 at 02:16 AM.

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
I just watched the World Cup live on my F13. I'm totally crushed by the result but still can be happy for Japan at least. Glad I had my F because I don't have cable. I've watched recorded TV shows on it before but it's the first time I had watched a live sporting event on it - it looked pretty good, much better than I expected.

Hello jpride. Did you get the feed from ESPN 3 ? My service provider Verizon is on the list of providers offering this service and I use it often. If you miss the live feed they keep replays for one month. I believe the bit rate is 480. Golf and tennis majors often have their own website streaming and seem to be in 720p. Watching the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club was the most sublime thing I've ever seen stream onto my screen.

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
I think you guys with the full HD screen in the US are lucky, compared to people in the EU. Anyway i would like some clarification on something. Basically when i am typing or using my mouse my screen begins to squeek, not sure if it is a loose screen, as i am not tech savvy. I hope someone can help. Thanks

Mine does the same thing when I'm on this website. Gallery O Swine from PigCollecting.com
Seriously, does the sound come from behind the monitor? It's not the squeaky keys themselves? Not a buzz but a squeak, correct? I dunno. Start computer in Safe mode and advise. Ask yourself when did this begin to occur? Any newly added programs, drivers, or general changes. Provide more info, greater detail as to exactly where this sound is coming from, and others will advise as well.Last edited by Fishon; 18th July 2011 at 01:39 PM.

Yep, ESPN3. I hadn't realized until yesterday that I had access to it through my ATT DSL. I will use it again now that I know. I was impressed with how good it looked with all the motion. I will definitely look at the HD NASA videos when I have more time later - I love that stuff. I think your last link made me cross-eyed though.

Oh THAT is what anseio meant when added me some rep! Well I was thinking all the time that he was going to some Omaroo/Amaroo island and he was so happy that repped me for short post about trolls.

Fishon "gAtdaMET" I really refreshed that page 2 times and stopped breathing to listen any sound
And only when I focused on what is that site about I started to suspect that something here is not right

My apologies for doing that to you. However, the website suggests to take advantage of their pictures because they make great desktop wallpaper. Advantage taken.

Wallpaper extraordinaire.
This new S series looks pretty good at an initial glance. Long battery life too.
