HELP PLEASE! Everytime I encode an AVI or MKV movie to DVD I loose the audio track. I have burned movies before with no problem but now no sound. I recently did a clean install with OEM recovery disk for the 3rd time to try to fix this. I have used windows dvd maker, nero, and roxio 2011 with no luck. Also I cannot make an image of my C drive for recovery. I keep getting an error message saying one of the files cannot be backed up. I am using a Hitachi Touro Desk Pro 3TB for my image. Any help will be appreciated

You have a codec issue. There are a thousand different ways to make a DVD, and twice as many to encode an Mpeg, and more ways to deal with audio than can be counted, you're not telling us much...

Yep. It is either 2 different problems or:
    bad HDD
    bad OEM DVDs
another reason of bad OS install

Hello, I think I read someone had this problem earlier but When I looked on my vaio f13 in the intel RST application under my main disk drive its says
transfer rate - 1.5Gb/s but shouldn't it be 3.0Gb/s its a SATA 2 hdd and pm55 chipset, so why would it say this.
It also says "Your system is enabled to configure advanced SATA features
for optimal power managment and increased storage performance"
would this "so-called" advanced SATA be restricting the port to 1.5 Gb/s for power savings?
I want to upgrade to a ssd but will it effect performance (max read/write)running at 1.5?
Also how can I tell if I'm in IDE or AHCI mode? there is nothing about SATA in the bios.

I checked the site 10.8.0.1003 is current,
I get this same info (Transfer mode: SATA/150) in CrystalDiskInfo
    What could it be?

Man, I didn't ask you what is current, I asked you if you know how to...

    Download this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...20625&lang=eng
Go to Device Manager, Find AHCI controller, right click - update driver - manually from folder - choose folder with downloaded drivers.

I'm willing to bet that it's your OEM hard drive that's the actual problem.

There were a few of us in 2010 who are upset over the realization that some F owners had SATA II appearing and others of us that only had SATA I. For me, it was my OEM HDD. Even though its spec is SATA II, it was only showing as SATA I and had a ceiling for write speeds. I changed to a different HDD and had no issues.

Well I get the same "sata 1.5" speed info from pcwizard and hdparm, I looked around and saw some lenovo y560 guy with the same drive and same problem.
They were recommended to update firmware, so I grabed it and when I find
that damn usb stick, I'll hope it doesn't destroy my HDD.
If it does, well im getting a new one soon anyway. I tried asking on vaio forums, man those guys are idiots.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
