(And Fresh Start - what I had - is a Sony option to install NO bloatware, by default, from Recovery.)

Does multimedia stutter after full Recovery before ANYthing else has been installed, including Antivirus and third-party players? Same question again, but now after ONLY MS and VAIO updates have been allowed.
Sorry about that MMaster but my English is very poor and sometimes it is possible that I overlook some details in the conversation. To be honest I didn't have the patience to chase for that stutter for days on end. It was enough for me to see that LM and DPC checker showed something was not quite good even after a fresh recovery with no other programs installed by me.

I used once bottom code to activate windows when suddanly on OEM Windows saw a black screen and warning about not legitimate copy of Windows. Perhaps it was Windows update with bad update

I had the unbelievable (or is it unbearable?!) pleasure to have to use F10 recovery again. I tried to make a bootable USB stick but it didn't work. Windows setup asked for some device drivers for hdd I guess, but only after showing me all the partitions and giving me the options to delete, resize and so on... of course (aaarrrrrgh!!!). If you know how to do a bootable stick that actually works please help.

This is how things look after a fresh install, no Windows/Vaio updates, no programs installed by me except for LatMon, DPC checker and Process Hacker 2:

way #1. Use windows Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. You need iso image.
way #2. Use HP USB Format tool. Fromat in NTFS. Copy ALL files from DVD to a USB flash drive. Including hied files.
way #3. Use Ultra Iso and use HDD-USB+type

I used Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool and a couple of other methods but the problem remains. It needs a driver for the hdd. I even tried to put some ATA ATAPI Controller driver on a separate stick but it seems it's not compatible.

So famous problem. It means that your iso file is either made from scratched disk or bad download cracked file. Also it happens if you use Nero image or other crap for makin disk image. I use Alcohol. Heard that you may use either daemon or UltraIso.

What exavctly you want to install? OEM recovery disks or pure distributive?

I downloaded the iso from this address:

I backed up my activation and now I want to install Windows from that iso and then restore the activation using the ABR tool.

Right now I'm trying Ultra Iso. I chose USB-HDD+ v2 as the writing method. Also checked Create Boot Partition and Verify.

I'm sorry but did I mention check create boot partition??
You are burning it on USB flash drive so NO boot partition is needed.
    1. Launch program, Click open and check path to saved image.
    2. Menu selfboot
    3. Click Write (or burn) image of HDD
    4. Method is USB-HDD+ and that is it.

About downloaded iso file. What program did you use? If you used built-in browser downloader then you could download it badly. You should redownload it using Download Master for example or Orbit Downloader maybe etc.

    Well... here I go again...

I used Free Download Manager to download the iso.

A weird thing happened to two of my 4GB sticks though. After trying to write the iso on them, they seem to have only ~700Mb total capacity even after formatting. Isn't that hilarious? The problem is I have run out of sticks heheh.

Edit: I'm gonna try and re-write the iso on a stick anyway and see what happens.

I am glad that you look at everything in a positive way You still can burn iso images of Windows XP on it
Perhaps it is because of that checking box of creating boot partition? Just perhaps it burnt that images on some hidden boot partition?

Anyway all you need is either use OEM format tool from manufacturer of flash drive (like transcend) or try to use HP USB Fromat tool. I assume you just created 2 partitions of this flash drive. What is size of that iso image? 3GB? You will find a proper tool. I will help you later with this
