Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
Well, you asked specifically about the VAIO F13S8E and I answered that. You didn't ask about all European F "S" models. Some have the Premium Adobe screen and some do not. Like I said, the VAIO F13S8E does not. Neither does the F13S1R/B or the F13S8R/B. The F13S0E/B and F13S1E/B do.

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
@jpride : thank you so much, they are all sold out :/ only the S8E and i don't want to pay 1300E for this model if it doesn't even have the premium screen (the other models are all 1600x900 :/ ... idk what to to do..wait for a refresh with the Sb CPUs and other options (hd webcam+new GPUs+led backlit...) the Sb cpus are out for a while i guess they should update this series but i'm afraid they will not update them until the summer ends, i can wait but not more than a month, so what should i do?
any suggestions? thanks in advance for your help
PS : i guess they are going o update them cause most of them (models) are sold out..

I'm just about certain no posts within a two day window is a record for this thread. No issues, complaints, or anything about the F? Everyone must have finely honed in and fine tuned their machines to perfection.

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
And you decided to break a line which was coming to 3 days
I had couple questions but they were not concerned to F models.
Just to show off. I use 2 cards for a eBooster which really quicks some programs opening! Like VAIO Care which usually takes 7 seconds to launch now takes only 3. And I am using old SD (13 MB speed and 0.34 ns access) and MS (up to 8.9 MB speed and 0.25 ns access) cards. I even aware of possible boost I can get using new fast speed and low access time cards! And they are hied in a laptop. Anyone else uses this advantage of our VAIO F model? Yes it works only with 2 cards instead of 5in1 card readers but we have 2 slots!
P.S. About my couple questions. Anyone worked with RamDisk or maybe know smth about reducing MFT on NTFS? Or know smth about FAT performance above average?Even genius without a proper knowledge can be mislead

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
Hello I have 2 question that I hope someone will comment on
a.) When I play blu-ray movies using corel WinDVD all the menus are really, really choppy and slow to respond, as if there is no hardware accel. what is the problem (the same BD menus work perfect on ps3)
b.) I dunno if this is just me but I opted for the 840qm and it was advertised as running at a peak 3.20, however I've owned my Vaio for over six month now and I've only seen it hit 3.06 via Intel Turbo Boost Monitor 2.0, I've tried a few different CPU test including superpi and it just sits at 3.06 when will it ever hit the full 3.20? does Sony put some kind of lock on the cores for saftey or something?
Thank You
My computer is: VPCF1390X

Re: Official Sony Vaio F Series Owners Thread *Part 6*
I have a VPCF12S1E and I'm wondering if hitting CPU temps like 75C degrees while doing a the large FFTs torture test of prime 95 would be considered normal... (high performance scheme + fan on high performance). I personally find it a bit high even for this calibre of laptop...
