Totally off-topic, but it is nice to see another 916 NBR poster!

Has anyone else noticed that the mousepad/trackpad of the SA is very inaccurate? I mean, it is very difficult to control compared to other trackpads.....

Sadly yes. ALPS just isn't as good as Synaptics. Lower sensitivity, worse resolution and less capable drivers :/

The Sony SA screen isn't super awful. It definitely makes the m11x screen look like an absolute joke. It's also much better than the Acer X8X0TG panels.
I have a Sony SA, and two 4820TGs. The problem the x8x0T[G] series has was variability. some were pretty good, like my 4820TGs, and some were really terrible, as in they should have never made it past QA inspection. My 4820TGs have better contrast and color saturation than my SA, but not by a whole lot. But I know a lot of folks who had really terrible screens in their 4820TGs here on the boards.

    Hello Folks,

Just purchased the optional extended battery pack for my Sony Vaio VPCSC31FM/S. Seems to be working fine, but the battery level indicator (in the system tray) keeps alternating back and forth from showing both batteries to only showing Battery #2. Also, when the extended battery gets low, it starts to show the low battery alert, although the fully-charged primary battery is available.

Is this a known issue? Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Cheers, Ken

As Far As I Know, updating the BIOS may help, the latest one (version R2085H4) because one of the changelog is "The battery status shows as "Not present" when the battery is fully charged"
    Sony VAIO VPCSA2FGX/BI i5-2410M (2.3-2.9) | HD6630M 1 GB | 6 GB | Corsair Force 3 240GB | 13.3" 900p matte | Windows 8
    ASUS K43U E-450 (1.65) | HD6310M | 4 GB | 320 GB | 14" 768p glare | Windows 8

Dream: VAIO Z2 with AMD Trinity, no PMD. Turn it into a 13" tablet, and add an ASUS Transformer-like keyboard docking . Runs Windows 8 of course. I think ASUS TF Book answers it.

Has anyone been able to find a laptop sleeve that fits perfectly?

I purchased the Caselogic PAS-213 and am not happy with it. I waited too long to return the case, but it is far too large for the laptop.

I am thinking, given the size increase from the SR to the SA + Slice, that the Zeroshock III will not work.

    Hmm...

I have an SA with no slice battery, and I got a Brenthaven sleeve from the Mac section of Microcenter for the 13" MBP and it fits very well, almost too tight. I have to kind of slide it over my USB dongle for my trackball to get it on over it. I doubt it would accomodate a slice added on.

Was it the "Brenthaven Prostyle Hardshell" that you purchased? Do you think, with a little bit of stretching, the slice would be able to fit? Would you mind sharing some pictures?

No, it was a soft sleeve made of neoprene with a nice lining. Here's some photos of how it fits, which is VERY tight. I seriously doubt it would fit with a slice battery on it.

    SonySAAndPinkSleeve

Let me know if that doesn't work etc.
