Is there a way to hide/disable the CD/DVD/BD drive software from the system tray?

Mine didn't even show up in device manager until after i updated the bios back. So no SATA 3 for me. I have bluetooth speakers...

So to summarise for anyone interested:

You can downgrade to R1031H4 and SATA 3 WILL work.
    But you may/will LOSE Bluetooth

As far as I know, unless if you remove Vaio Power Management, no.

I posted here about a webcam issue I had before the resolved itself through a bios update. Except, I continue having this problem. My built in webcam with stop working at random and when I look in the device manager I see "Unknown Device", which is obviously my webcam. If I reinstall the Webcam drivers/program through Vaio Care, the issue is fixed. The problem is that this issue keeps coming back, like every day. Any suggestions for a long term fix? I'm desperate. I just want to use the webcam!

What kind of functionality would I lose if I'd uninstall that?

Gives us advanced BIOS menu and have ACHI mode. Intel Rapid Storage now says "Your system is configured to enable advanced SATA features for optimal power management and increased storage performance." Before the standard BIOS was set to RAID and Intel Rapid Storage did NOT say drive was set for increased performance.

will I lose warranty for my Vaio if I use this modded bios?

Does your bluetooth work with R1031H4? Quickest way to check would be to see if the bluetooth icon is in the system tray (next to the time)

I have the intel 6320 wifi/bluetooth chipset and with that bios it disappeared from device manager. Updating back up to R2085H4 brought it back again
I really don't think that it is a Bios issue. On my SA2 I swapped the included 6205 for a 6230 wifi/bluetooth 3.0. It worked as it should even with the 1031H4 bios. BUT I only used the official drivers from Intel not from Sony. Maybe that's where the problem lies?

Vaio SA3 VPCSA3AFX bought 10 days ago. replaced HDD with SSD OCZ vertex 3.

I really spent too much time to swap bios from 2085 to R1031H4. After installing modded R1031H4 I had to reinstall windows (windows refused AHCI mode)

But finally I saw sata3 speeds in crystalmark, atto, asssd etc. with modded bios R1031H4. BUT:

    - Bluetooth doesnt work
    - Too much instability, lags, and system hangs (not BOSD) several times in a day.

So I reverted back to modded bios 2084 which has AHCI support but no sata3,but very stable, smooth.

Waiting for Mr. Camilo's hacked latest 2085 bios.

Note: OCZ owners , use microsoft's standart AHCI driver which is very stable for OCZ SSD drives

I used the official intel drivers for the 6230 (downloading from Sony is slooow). going back to the latest bios brought Bluetooth back so that's why i thought that the 1031H4 was the cause of my bluetooth going awol. Will investigate further once I have the laptop back (it's my brother's and he's away for the next week).

I didn't get any bsods with R1031H4. The fan was louder and bluetooth didn't work. As far as i could tell those were the downsides. I have heard of issues with Sandforce based drives. Were you on the latest firmware?
