Re: Official Sony SB/SA/SC/SD Series Owners' Thread
Is there a way to hide/disable the CD/DVD/BD drive software from the system tray?

Re: Official Sony SB/SA/SC/SD Series Owners' Thread
I posted here about a webcam issue I had before the resolved itself through a bios update. Except, I continue having this problem. My built in webcam with stop working at random and when I look in the device manager I see "Unknown Device", which is obviously my webcam. If I reinstall the Webcam drivers/program through Vaio Care, the issue is fixed. The problem is that this issue keeps coming back, like every day. Any suggestions for a long term fix? I'm desperate. I just want to use the webcam!

Re: Official Sony SB/SA/SC/SD Series Owners' Thread
Vaio SA3 VPCSA3AFX bought 10 days ago. replaced HDD with SSD OCZ vertex 3.
I really spent too much time to swap bios from 2085 to R1031H4. After installing modded R1031H4 I had to reinstall windows (windows refused AHCI mode)
But finally I saw sata3 speeds in crystalmark, atto, asssd etc. with modded bios R1031H4. BUT:
- Bluetooth doesnt work
- Too much instability, lags, and system hangs (not BOSD) several times in a day.
So I reverted back to modded bios 2084 which has AHCI support but no sata3,but very stable, smooth.
Waiting for Mr. Camilo's hacked latest 2085 bios.
Note: OCZ owners , use microsoft's standart AHCI driver which is very stable for OCZ SSD drivesLast edited by orhanozalp; 4th December 2011 at 12:30 AM.

Re: Official Sony SB/SA/SC/SD Series Owners' Thread
I used the official intel drivers for the 6230 (downloading from Sony is slooow). going back to the latest bios brought Bluetooth back so that's why i thought that the 1031H4 was the cause of my bluetooth going awol. Will investigate further once I have the laptop back (it's my brother's and he's away for the next week).
I didn't get any bsods with R1031H4. The fan was louder and bluetooth didn't work. As far as i could tell those were the downsides. I have heard of issues with Sandforce based drives. Were you on the latest firmware?
