Most 7mm SSD come with a small spacer to make them work in 9.5mm enviroments (like the X25m series, iirc).

With an adapter you can make it work. I believe they sell shunts to fill the extra space. The connectors should be the same in both.

What if it doesn't come with the spacer? Can I just screw it in the caddy and leave the empty space?

IIRC, the caddy uses the side screws, so it allows for that. However, I'm about 2 days distant from my SA, so I cannot confirm this for you

Yes it does use 4 side screws.

now we must know if that cpu throttling is really something to be concerned on.

Update: After updating the BIOS and also updating the firmware on my OCZ Agility 3, my SSD went from 6gbps to 3gbps transfer rate. Not sure if it's the BIOS or the OCZ firmware update that caused it.

Could anyone with the new updated firmware check their SSD transfer rates to see if it's still 6gbps?

My HDD is at 1.5gb/s even though it supports sata2. Sorry I forgot to check before the update .

Did you use a benchmark tool to check the actual speeds during use? It could be the LPM function of the Intel chipsets (that wreaked havoc on the C300/M4 drives, lol) causing the lower reported readings.

Also, the mechanical spinners, those rarely have data transfer rates that would top 1.5gbit/s, especially the laptop drives. Some highly dense platters at 7200RPM might do the trick, but due to fragmentation, normally not for long.

Is there some way to connect an external microphone to the VPCSB model instead of using its built-in microphone?

In my opinion the quality of the built-in microphone is not that good even when using a headphone to avoid echo.

In advance, I appreciate the support.

I use an Audio Technica AT2020 USB version. Not the best idea for most people, but fine enough for me

Otherwise, an USB sound card with a mic input would be enough.
