Re: ~Sony SZ Owners Lounge~
whoo.. Sony SZ used-to-own 'er here.
Unfortunately, dad's company paid for the laptop, and it had to stay in Hawaii while I left for college. Thinking on buying another one in 2 months though.
How is the sound/heat on your SZ's? Mines was extremely loud, even when booting and idle, but I think it must have been defective. That's the only(biggest) factor that plays into me buying another SZ.

Re: ~Sony SZ Owners Lounge~
Mine is actually pretty quiet, the fan does kick up abit while gaming and it does got abit hot on my lap but I find it acceptable, a cooler pad will help both problems. This is the fourth notebook I have owned and it is by far the best combination of speed, size, power and looks of anything out there. It basically has no weaknesses, unlike every other computer out there.Great screen, great speakers, gorgeous looks, super lite and quick.I have been playing oblivion on it and I am really impressed how well it plays, I would give the computer an A so far.
Previous systems I have owned.
Dell M1210 - Horrible screen-awful speakers.
Asus G1 - Very nice notebook but it is a beast-way too big to be portable and even worse speakers than the m1210.
Toshiba p105-9339 - Fast computer but overheated way too much and it had a poor screen not to mention it was a beast.Last edited by Donovan36; 16th September 2007 at 03:44 PM.

Re: ~Sony SZ Owners Lounge~
mines pretty quiet, it gets pretty warm sometimes though probably because its so powerful and so small at the same time. and im sure the metal casing doesnt help with that either. i think its great, and i dont even have the premium version, but it doesnt bother me, the screen is plenty bright for me, and its pretty light. but the performance is what stands out.

Re: ~Sony SZ Owners Lounge~
looks like more than 20% (roughly) of the SZ owner have problem with the fan, i start to wonder there's a certain amount of defetive SZs around in the market with fan noise issue...OR....it only exists in standard model and prem model has got ride of that problem with tech improv or more expensive $$$?
