    I only informative
T9300 working, the temp is correct maybe little smaller than the older processor.
    Thanks for answer.

By the way, I read about problems with the NVIDIA.
For me the problem is over in my country when private service technician put me a new graphics card, apparently without flaws.
The cost was high but I got a lifetime warranty.
By the way, that he tried to upgrade the GPU but there were problems with this.
the problem with the memory of the GPU did not ask for details.

I also started a post in the hardware section about possibly upgrading the 8400GS card. It might be worth a read.
Upgrading, a laptop's graphics card, is it possible here?

I've seen that there are two different motherboards for the SZ6/SZ7. There might be more but i don't know.
    A1508528A
    A1289491A
It seems that SZ6 models came with the latter.
I've also seen a seller selling a motherboard with a 8600GS i think but that could just be an error. If you google the parts for the motherboards and 8600 you will find it.

I have my SZ back now and it is perfect.
    Hey Rachel,

WoW, you did alot of research, thats excellent.

Can you send us a snapshot of your GPU-Z info?

    Where did you do this?

What is the difference between both Mboards? which is better?

    Thanks

k_gam i did not do the gpu upgrade. I sent my laptop away for a completely different issue. I think in that thread i linked i attached a screen shot of gpu-z.

I'm not sure about the differences between both of those motherboards. For me though in this case i would always go with the newer rev model. The only differences between the SZ6/SZ7 to my knowledge was the processor but it's entirely possible that there could be some minute change to the motherboard that we are not aware of.

    Thanks Rachel for your input.

I think the upgrade is not worth any hassle.

I only thought of this because I found some problems playing 1080p youtube videos on Speed mode with the hardware acceleration feature in flash.

If you have the time try World's Largest Rope Swing - YouTube in Full HD and check the hardware acceleration then refresh your player.

    Let me know the results.

I loaned my laptop out to someone in my family today for a few days. Hopefully though someone else can help you out with your request. If not i will try it when i get it back. I've never used the Nvidia card and the integrated card is ok for me for 1080p especially with a fast SSD.

I mentioned earlier how my SZ screen blew out and how i replaced it by purchasing a very cheap SZ7 for £160. The display from that laptop was perfect.
I intended to sell of old parts but there was a lack of interest and i wouldn't let it go for next to nothing.
I saw a cheap complete display from a SZ61VN/X with the premium brown lid and bought that. It cost me £60. I decided to get the spare SZ rebuilt. I completely dismantled the laptop and i didn't want to put it back together myself so i sent it to Vaiorefurbs who gave me a good price for reassembling it £50!

The SZ6/SZ7 led models both use the same lcd. Some reviewers marked the SZ7 has having a superior display to the SZ6 for brightness levels but the displays at least are both the same Toshiba LTD133EXBY.

I had no issues using a complete premium brown display to swap the black carbon one. However, i couldn't use the back panel because it was not in a good condition like the seller described. May be the black standard carbon one will withstand the test of time a little better than the brown one, or that might not be the case.

I've seen a seller who is selling a P8600 processor on ebay and they claim that it works for the SZ6/SZ7. I have mailed them and asked them if this was advertised wrong and meant to be for an SR and they persisted on telling me they had tried it in the SZ7 series and it worked. I still tend to think they have made an error. I tried a P9500 in a SZ7 and it would not boot so i don't know quite what is going on there. I'm not the only person who tried this upgrade and experienced this in this generation of laptop.
    Questions about upgrading my m1330
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=320910223839
If not though, the P8600 pulls in 1,629 on the cpu passmark.
The high end T9500 pulls in 1,836. The T9300 pulls in 1,704.

The new S13 or SA does look very interesting to me. Some models appear to have the premium display. It was about time really and other manfacturers for a while have been offering high end displays in the 13" space and are continuing to do so. The inferior display used on the previous SA put me of from purchasing it. The new one looks like a possible replacement for my SZ in the future, although i have no need to replace it right now. The colour choices are a bit more refreshing. It looks very good in white to lol.I'm not sure if the high end models will be sold in the UK. If not, i could import one anyway or buy one when i travel.

I made a thread on this in the main forum, I appologise i should really have come here first, please accept my appologies on the double post.

    Regarding the SZ5XWN;

So i have never ending issues of the dreaded stamina mode switch not changing, and being stuck in intel graphics mode. I have researched now for aproximatly 3 months solid and exhausted all known resources on the subject,

The issue i am having is i need to install Nvidia drivers to get the graphics to be seen and return function of the speed mode however the drivers won't install without the graphics card being activated...catch 22.

I have tried many variations of installing drivers including manually doing it, no joy though.

My last hope is that is a request...plea that i can request the following.

Please would anyone be willing who owns this laptop brun me a copy of their backup/ghost/original install CDs please?

I do not need a windows key as i have my own, i only need the discs to reinstall the original software and drivers.

It would be greatly appreciated and i would be willing to pay for them.

    Thanks

    Craig

The graphics card drivers do not enable speed mode, otherwise none of us would get into it.

What you need is the registry patch and a few other utilities. Something didn't install properly. The link in my signature contains links to all of the files you need. While meant for Win7, it uses all Windows Vista Sony stuff since Sony screwed up the windows 7 stuff.

Sometimes, you can pull the battery and power, flip the switch and it will switch when it comes on, but don't count on it, I have seen it fail more often than not.

If none of that fixes it, it's possible it won't switch because your Nvidia card is dead or your switch is bad.
