Re: reputable/reliable brand
How about this intel?
I'm currently using 50gb out of the 60gb, so I think a 160gb or 128gb would suffice? I don't think a 240gb ssd necessary...lenovo T420 | i5-2410M | 8GB 1333 | Samsung 830 128GB |500GB (ultrabay) | Win7Prox64

Re: reputable/reliable brand
128GB IMO is kinda pushing it. Windows 7 Home Premium is like 15-20 GB, depending on the image. I've pretty much limited myself to 160GB or larger for OS drive.
No, I've never had one issue with an Intel SSD, I've owned, 3 x G1 80 GB, 1 x G2 120GB, 2 x G2 80 GB, 1 x G2 160GB, 1 x G3 80 GB, 1 x G3 120 GB, 3 x G3 160GB).

Re: reputable/reliable brand
I believe Intel has the lowest failure rates among SSDs, but failure rates are low for all SSDs. The fact you can get OCZ less expensively means they'll offer better value as the chance they'll fail is low. I have three OCZ drives in my desktops. None has given me any trouble.

Re: reputable/reliable brand
Even though I've owned 3 OCZ SSDs without trouble (Vertex 1 30 GB, Vertex 2 80 GB, Agility 2 60 GB), the fact they scammed customers is strong enough reason not to purchase their products anymore. I've even sold all my OCZ SSDs, I only own Intel for now. Also they are notorious for removing customer from their forums.

Re: reputable/reliable brand
I don't know anything about the OCZ forums, but I think you can make a pretty good argument that since the failure rates are so low the chances you'll ever need OCZ support are small. It's probably one of those things were there a few bad incidents that get blown out of proportion since the affected users were vocal. That happens here with some regularity.
