The Vertex doesn't feel slow, does it?

I used my Vertex 1 32 GB for nearly a year, then upgraded to my 320 series 160 GB...just as fast.

Re: what is the best 60GB ssd ?
Your 4K writes look slow to me (at least compared to a more modern SSD like the M4)... I think this would make a big difference in the general feeling of 'zippness' and bootup (I'd read that 4/8K writes are important when booting)... it may be that your drive just needs to be securely wiped in order to restore performance - but i've only recently got into the SSD game, so someone else will know much more about that than me.

Re: what is the best 60GB ssd ?
Englishcoder is right, 4K write should be higher.
OCZ Vertex 120GB v1.10 MLC SSD Review - CrystalDiskMark v2.2 - Legit Reviews
Small correction though, 4K writes don't really affect booting. They do affect things like installation, file copies and multi-tasking.
The lower 4K write performance might be caused by mis alignment, write caching, wrong AHCI setting or chipset problems.
