TRIM Support from a HD to SSD Image
Good morning everyone. I have a very simple question. I'm looking to purchase an SSD in the next few weeks but I would like to know something. I'm planning on putting my SSD in an external enclosure, imaging it from my internal hard drive then replacing it in my Laptop. My question is will TRIM be activated on the image on my SSD or is it only active on a fresh install? Thanks!

TRIM will be enabled but due to the cloning process alignment can be off.
If you use the 'clone disk' option in Acronis True Image Home 2010 or 2011 alignment should be good. This only works when all data on the original drive fits on the new one.

Alignment can be an issue for all OSes. It's about how data is written to the drive.
