We need a section just for Netbooks...

I just don't see how those questions would be handled any differently than any other notebook questions. You're just talking about Intel Atom CPU's rather than Core 2 Duos for the most part...do you think we should have a separate forum for AMD-based notebooks as well, since they use different chipsets and processors than the majority that use Intel?

Like I said before it was just a suggestion....I see there is a whole site dedicated to tablet pc's and thought having one sub-section dedicated to netbooks was a reasonable request...

It's not a bad suggestion, just that I don't believe it's needed personally. ^_^

TabletPCs are particularly different entities from notebooks(if we count slates which don't even have keyboards) in terms of hardware and software(some older ones run a special version of Windows IIRC).

A netbook however is, for all intents and purposes, a very small notebook. There aren't any big differences that warrant "specialized" questions as far as I know.

We don't break forums into categories of notebooks, i.e. we don't have a gaming rig section, a business laptop section, budget laptop section etc. If we had a netbook forum and a Dell forum, where would you post about a Dell Mini? Either I guess, but most members would just cross post and that would become a nightmare.

I understand what you're asking for, and that's just an easy way to find all netbook related discussion.

If the forum had tagging I would suggest that we encourage users to tag anything related to netbooks as being so, that would make finding netbook related threads easy. Unfortunately, the version of vBulletin we're on does not.

We do have something better than tagging; we have a search function.
