User Title
Located under your user name, this changes as you continue to make more posts (see further below for specific titles). Your user title will become customizable by you when you reach 700 posts.
Reputation Power & Boxes
Rep Power = the amount of rep that you can give or take away from someone. This value is calculated based on the following factors:
- For every 250 posts (Off-topic posts do not count) = 1 additional rep altering power
- Every 150 days of active membership = 1 additional rep altering power
- For every 1,000 rep points (see explanation below) = 1 additional rep altering power
The box(es) next to the rep power value is an indication of how helpful the user is. If you are new, you are neutral, but this will change in time. When a user feels that your post is helpful, they can click on the
icon between the status light and red triangle, and give you rep.
- Gray
= Neutral (or zero rep power if you see this in User CP). - Dark Green
= Positive feedback - Light Green
= Extremely positive feedback (only seen next to rep power)
Negative feedback (
) is currently disabled.
Reputation Points
When a user gives you rep, the amount that is in their rep power is added to your reputation points (click on User CP to see what rep was given to you). Rep points are basically the numerical amount of reputation that you have received, and is located on the main page of User CP. You will see a list of thread titles, green/grey/red boxes (explained below), User Name, and any comments that they might have left. Above the reputation given box, you'll see a number. For every 1,000 reputation points accumulated, your rep power will increase by 1.
Reputation points will also affect the number of green (or red boxes) that appear next to your rep power. Every 100 rep points will earn you an additional dark green box (
) for up to 5. Thereafter, every 200 rep points will earn you a light green box (
) for up to 6, producing a total of up to 11 dark and light green boxes (

).
Everyone on the site is allowed to give rep five times during a 24-hour period. You cannot give rep to the same user twice in the same day.

Hopefully this will explain it. I know it sounds a bit confusing, but basically the rep system is a reward and punishment system. It is designed so that users can reward those who are helpful and punish those who cause problems. To see exactly how the reputation settings are (since we get so many questions about this), attached below is a screenshot of every setting available and what it is set to. That's all there is to it -- we can't answer any more than what the settings are.Last edited by justinkw1; 26th November 2012 at 03:36 AM. Reason: Updated to vB4 style
