Default Tap Zones keep coming back

I hate the tap zones that are set as default for the touch pad on my A100. As soon as i found out how, i disabled them. they would cause me to do actions accidentally.

But, now, they keep enabling themselves again. this happens very often.

i go to control panel, disable them. hit apply, hit ok. but, they continue to come back.

it was not always like this. i am not sure what triggered this problem.

it started after i did several things, including:

install firefox 2.0, and ie7.

disable the toshiba hotkey utility at startup. i later realized i wanted it, then enabled it again.

that is all i can think of that i did prior to the problem starting. i really don't see the installations being a problem, and the only other thing, i just put back to how it was before. perhaps it happened even before the above events, but i did not notice it at the time due to using a mouse.

Does anybody have any idea how to remedy this annoyance?
