Default Better Sound anyone? Here you go!

Hi

I just came across a sound booster tool that does an incrdible job on my Vaio SZ. It's meant for Toshiba Notebooks but works on others too if they have a supported sound chip. These are:

ac97intc - Intel® 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audiocontroller
aeaudio - Analog Devices AC'97
AEAudioService - Andrea Audio
allegro - ESS Allegro PCI Audio (WDM)
ALCXWDM - Realtek AC'97 Audio
cs429x - Cirrus Logic Crystal WDM Audio Codec
es1969 - ESS ES1969
IntcAzAudAddService - RealTek HD
maestro - ESS Maestro
smwdm - SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
stac97 - Sigmatel STAC 9750 AC97, Sigmatel C-Major Audio
sthda - SigmaTel HDA
VIAudio - VIA Technologies Implended Audio in the Southbridge VT8237
WDM_YAMAHAAC97 - Yamaha AC97

Download it here: http://sn0wl.laptopvideo2go.com/files/tvs10312.zip

Install it, reboot and you'll get a new tray icon. You can do incredible things with the small notebook speakers. I was shocked how good they can sound. And it works everywhere (games, media players etc)!

will it only improved the sound quality of lappy's speaker and not my external speakers?

Every speaker. You can set different settings for internal, external, open type headphones and closes type headphones and switch em with a right click on the tray icon. If you got good external speakers the effect is not as huge though as with the laptop ones. The tool boosts them the most.

You may know those effect when you used WMP with activated SRS WOW etc. That tool here does the same, but for every single program there is. It's not limited to a media player. And you can set it up even more detailed than the SRS WOW in WMP.

I found pretty good settings and if I play some audio and switch the tool on and off and back on the difference is

Sounds like a global equalizer with presets and some effects.

That depends on what sound card you have on your computer steven. Go to start, and in the right pane right click my computer, and select properties from the new menu that comes up. Click the hardware tab and then click device manager. Click on the plus symbol next to Sound, Video and Game Controllers. If one the names listed above is in that list in the device manager, you'll be able to use it.

Sounds pretty cool, might give it a go, I have an ESS Maestro.

This piece of software was discussed a couple weeks ago. It does seem to work well on quite a few computers, and especially Dells, even though it was made for Toshiba notebooks. It does a great job of boosting sounds quality, and I wouldn't run my e1705 without it!
