Default $25 audigy refund

After figuring out that the audigy 'upgrade' was in fact just a software bundle, I was a bit irritated.

This is what I sent to Dell through the 'contact us' link. I got an answer back the same day saying a refund is on the way, and that I didn't have to send back the upgrade.

I paid $25 extra for a sound blaster audigy sound upgrade. As it turns
out, this is just a software package. If this was listed as such during
the order process I would not have picked it. Please refund my $25
since the audio processor is in fact NOT upgraded.

Yeah I realized this too after getting my new comp..

So, does this mean that we can install this upgrade on ANY computer, not just our Dell laptop?

And what exactly does this do for the computer if it is just software? How can sub-par speakers become not sub par just from some software? I would think you need better speakers!!!

If the "upgrade" was actually better speakers, it would be totally worth it, but a software upgrade is sort of a rip off.

The Audigy sound boosts the clarity of the speakers, and really does make it a lot clearer.

its worth the $25

I agree with Nick, I happened to buy the audigy hd software from creative after my E1505 came in, and it did improve the sound.

thanks

it wont take any power from the core duo, its just another resource you have that is running the in the background (which is nothing)

I assume you didnt even try the software, once you found out it was a CD

ugh, id pay $40 to use this software, its worth it. My M1710 is like my second home multimedia area (which it is) the software just brings so much clarity to it. Not to mention you can control the bass, speakers, sub woofer, and so on.

You can download this from the www.dell.com site, but you need a activation code,
No activation code, no Audigy sound
