DSL Or Cable
I am currently a DSL user but I been told that cable is faster, is this true? Comcast is offering me 6 Megs what does that mean over DSL? And is cable safe?

Re: DSL Or Cable
Cable is safe. My company (small) does spam filtering, web filtering () and also keeps viruses away pretty well also. 6megs is great but keep in mind with cable the more people on at a time the slower the speed.

Re: DSL Or Cable
In my area, cable has a much lower latancy, about the same download speed, but about 1/3 the upload speed as DSL.
The DSL line has a high latancy, but the upload is very, very stable so I can send things to people easier. Overall I'de say they're about the same, go with whatever is known to be more stable in your area.

Re: DSL Or Cable
Unless you are a heavy downloader, I would suggest buying whatever is cheaper which is usually DSL.

Re: DSL Or Cable
In my area cable is 4000/384 and DSL is 1500/128. Cable is $45 and DSL is $15. Seems to work out just about right.
Generally cable is more expensive but faster. If you do nothing other than casual surfing, you'll be fine with DSL. If you want the lowest latency for gaming, like to download a lot, etc you'll want cable.
Check how they are in your area though. Even though cable is usually faster, good DSL is better than ****py cable.

Re: DSL Or Cable
keep your dsl or upgrade to sdsl like what I have. 1.5mbps dl and ul speeds. ALWAYS reliable unlike cable in suburban populated areas and more.
