Default NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110m?

The Dell D620 review says the laptop has a 256 MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M with TurboCache graphics set. Is this a new GPU? How fast is it? I mean, how does it compare to other processors? I don't see it in the GPU Comparison Chart.

That's because the Quadros are not gaming graphics cards. You CAN game with them, but they are not set up for that, and will not have as nice of performance. I want to say, and this is not for sure, hopefully someone else has the definite answer, that it is comparable to the 7300 Go. So basically, it isn't gonna do much for you for gaming

It's definitely lower-end and not for gaming, as sublime says. More for helping with 3D CAD graphics design applications for engineers to get a bit of an extra kick. Not for Doom 3.

there have been a few posts on this topic already, please search for it.

a quadro is NOT meant for gaming in anyway. it is a workhorse card, not a gaming card. refer to the other threads for the specifics.

pb,out.

Quadro cards are designed for rendering as said. They won't be put into the chart because they don't compare in performance to the regular 3D cards, and have special purposes.

That is a questionable statement. What do you mean "don't compare in performance"? The Quadro cards use the same GPUs as the GeForce cards, similarly to how FireGLs use the same GPUs as Radeons. Most of the time the gaming performance of the gaming/workstation versions of the same chip is comparable.

Don't compare in performance as in I'm not including them because they aren't designed to play games and thus the numbers they produce while playing games won't necessairly reflect their actual performance while doing the tasks they were designed to do.

another quadro link..see my last post:

"danton47, thanks for posting that link..great read!

but i will sum it up, by posting the last paragraph..

"Final Words...

With its ability to master AA/AF much better than the GeForce series of graphics adapters, the Quadro did match or outdo the 6800GS in a couple of cases. Should you buy this instead of the 6800GS then? Most definitely not, unless you define yourself as a professional in the graphics field with a need for such a component. Despite the Quadro FX3400 doing a great job in our gaming benchmarks, it's not made for gaming. The price premium that NVIDIA charges for it will probably get you a 7800GTX 512MB, which is one of the top performing gaming cards in the market. Needless to say, this quick article has put a few things in right perspective, and that's the fact that NVIDIA's professional level graphics adapters can be considered all-rounders with a specialty in professional level rendering."

no ifs ands or buts, the quadro is NOT a gaming card.
