LEGAL Windows 7 Download Links (Just like Vista before!!!)

Everybody was cool with these links being posted for Vista, so here are the same (working! ) for Windows 7

You NEED a key to activate/use forever, but if you don't have one, you can use this to test out Windows 7 for 120 days (using the rearm command)

There are two methods for obtaining the windows 7 DVDs:

Method 1: You download 3 files, manually remove the ei.cfg file to allow for all version installation, and make an iso from the files – this is for people who do not wish to use 3rd party software to edit a Windows Disc – To use this method, go to the section titled “3 File Method”

Method 2: You download a fixed version iso, and use a configuration tool to remove the ei.cfg file from it to allow for all version installation – To use this method, go to the section titled “ISO Method”

3 File Method

Download the appropriate 3 files for the language and version (x86 or x64) you want to download:
NOTE: Make sure you use a download manager (such as DownThemAll) to download these files as they sometimes do not download properly in browsers themselves (especially the box files)

Instructions to make an iso from these files (Assuming you have already downloaded the files and placed all 3 in the same folder):

1. Run the .exe for your download as administrator (right click on it, then click "Run as Administrator" in the menu), wait for it to extract (If you get an error but still have the expandedSetup folder, check the number/filesize from this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/show...5&postcount=43 - if you have all of the files, you can go ahead and continue to make the iso)

While it is extracting, you should see this window:



2. Once the 'Install Now' window appears, close it
3. You should have a folder called expandedSetup in the directory with the 3 downloaded files
4. Copy this folder to C:\
5. Go to C:\expandedSetup\sources and delete the file called ei.cfg , doing this will allow you to select the version you want at install (Pro, Ultimate, Home Premium etc.)
6. Download this file: http://www.gazup.com/4AXmq-oscdimg.zip-download-mirrors extract it, and place it (oscdimg.exe) in C:\Windows\System32 (This file comes from the official windows 7 WAIK, it is called oscdimg.exe in case you were wondering)
7. Then, open a command prompt as administrator (type cmd into the start menu box then right click on cmd.exe and click "Run as Administrator") and run the following command:

oscdimg.exe -bC:\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com -u2 -h -m -lWIN_EN_DVD C:\expandedSetup\ C:\Win7.iso

-This will create an iso for windows 7 in your C drive, if you get an error, try typing in the command, not copy/paste
-Note, the character before WIN_EN_DVD is a lowercase L, not |

Here is what your command window will look like while it is running:



8. Burn the iso, boot it, and install (you can also put it onto a usb flash drive/hard drive using the microsoft tool to save a disc: http://www.gazup.com/DNtH6-windows7-...wnload-mirrors )

The disc created with this method will act just like a retail Windows 7 disc (can install any version (Ultimate, Pro, Home Premium etc.) but is limited to whichever bit-type (x86 or x64) you download)

After you finish downloading the ISO, download this and extract it: http://code.kliu.org/misc/win7utils/...al_utility.zip - This program automatically removes the ei.cfg file, allowing you to install any version (Home Premium, Ultimate, etc.) provided you have the right key

Run this program on the iso that you downloaded, and you should have a proper iso

I am trying to get my girlfriend introduced to Windows 7. If I create an ISO from the files above (she will be using x86) would she be able to use it without a key for a little. If not, are there any current trials out there?

I am curious about the 64bit's of Windows 7 you posted here.
I hope it is Ultimate version. LOL.

EDIT: FOUND, IT IS WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL FOR 64BIT's.

However, there's some tricks to unlock every version of Windows 7 to be installed.

Actually, all the Windows OS Installers(Vista/7) have all the version(starter, hp, pro, ulti) inside.
However, in some cases, there's a file inside named ei.cfg limits the version installation to only allow 1 version.
Delete or modify the ei.cfg will allow us to install any version of Windows 7.
So, you got 50% correct and 50% wrong.
