Default Any interest in a group buy on Atheros WiFi Cards?

(edit) I will close this thread when the group buy is closed! (edit)

This is for a Atheros AR5006XS based WiFi card!
The AR5006XS is the latest and greatest!

Things will go thru paypal straight to the seller, I would recommend
that you use credit card so you have online buyer protection thru your credit card if they offer it because I will not be held liable for any issues, etc yadi yadi. I am just a guy who wanted to save some cash on these cards so I setup the group purchase. This is not my first group buy nor my last.

I checked his paypal account as well;
Account Status: Non-U.S. Verified Premier Member (51)

So I am confident, but as always recommend you take whatever route you feel comfortable with.

If you wish to wait to see if we go over fifty, feel free, I will
update the thread with actual numbers on those who have purchased.

If you wish to purchase now and not wait to go over fifty units, feel
free to send paypal payment for "under fifty units" price plus
shipping. Then you MUST Forward a copy of your paypal
confirmation of payment to " Firebretha@gmail.com " that way I
have transaction record that you were part of our group purchase.

Dont change the subject when you forward the email, just put my email address. That way all the emails get placed in one spot and its more organized for me.

In the payment message you can put "Firebretha Group Buy" so he recognizes the payment source.

Pricing

We reached fifty units! price is Ten dollars off of $60 USD, so $50 dollars a piece.
Shipping to the USA will be five dollars for one unit, and 3 dollars
for every additional unit.

So for one Unit shipped would cost you $55
For two units sent to you would cost $108

Here is a link to the Sellers normal eBay listing, You can see his
feedback and if you click some of his previous auctions you will see
his previous sales with these cards.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...=garagesale125

For more information on the benefits of the Atheros WiFi card, please
see this thread.

http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=93590

Once you decide on how many you want,
Send correct payment to his Paypal account at;
garagesale125@hotmail.com

Once you Recieve confirmation of payment in your email, Foward that email to me at Firebretha@gmail.com Do not change the subject of the email.

Thanks for grouping together so we could get a discount on these!

-Rick

If your math skills aren't the greatest or you have any other questions, please feel free to post as any of us are happy to help.

(EDIT)
Hey guys remember you DO NOT have to BID ON HIS AUCTIONS!
We are bypassing ebay because they would add an more cost to the purchase. just send payment direct! Congrats to those who have already placed their orders.
(Edit)

(Edit)
Same Cost to Ship to Canada! Just make sure you make payment in USD and not canadian so the amount is correct.
(Edit)

(Edit)
We hit Fifty units sold between all sites! Price updated

Remove the bottom panel from your 9300 to get access to the MiniPCI card.

Use a flat head screw driver to pop off the antenna leads.

Remove old card and install new card. Attach new leads and then reinstall bottom cover panel.

Insert CD and run the setup.
This program will install the 5006x drivers by default.

Once the setup is complete go to, Start / Control Panel / System / hardware / Device Manager

Under Network Adapters you will find the Atheros Card. Right click on it and select update driver. Then go back into the CD and find the drivers, Then select the 5006XS card and click continue anyway

You are all set! Enjoy 108mbs speeds!

Default Re: Any intrest in a group buy on Atheros WiFi Cards?

I could maybe join in but im not really positive. How much is he offering these cards for as a group? I might be able to help out if help is needed in this. Maybe like buy a few then resell them and make a profit. So how many cards is he saying and for what price?

Oh man you are a genius. Why didn't I ever think of doing this?

I'm totally in, and I'm in Canada as well, in Toronto, so I could just pick it up from you right? Oh wait, where in Canada are you? Don't tell me westcoast.

This sounds like a plan, as I am sick of my 2200b/g. I was thinking of going back to my reseller and asking him to switch out this one for an Atheros so he can deduct the price of this thing or does it even work that way? hrmm...if I have to just buy the Atheros at full price then forget it, I will totally go for this group buy plan you have worked out.

Let's do this~!!!

just edited my profile, a bit far from you...

well he sells them online for 60$ usd.

"Shipping to Canada/United States is US$15 and anywhere else in the world is US$20. Item will be shipped (w/ TRACKING NUMBER) from Hong Kong directly within 2 days after payment is confirmed."

his original ebay listing.

Now I am just waiting to hear back from him on what he could do for us as a group buy.

Hmm, anyone wanna explain the benefits of a Atheros card?

I might get in on this if depending on the price that the group recieves.

Also would I be able to upgrade my Dell B130 to this?

Its a normal Mini pci card,

so you have a dell with wifi... = dropped signal, disconnections, inconsistent speeds.

Atheros = better range, no drops, everything good to wifi.
