Default T500 WSXGA+ LED (1680x1050)

I have a quick question. I am in a tossup between the T400 and T500. I really would like to have a WSXGA+ LED (1680x1050) screen on the T500 and the only LED for the T Series is the T400 with a WXGA+ (1400x900) LED. After looking through all of the tech specs there does not appear to be one that will be released. Looking deeper at the specs there were also a couple of other errors in the PDF (I.E. The resolution of the LED Screen on the T400) so I'm guessing it's subject to change.

Is there a for sure answer on if there will be this screen in this resolution for the T500. I do like the real estate that 1680x1050 has to offer but it only comes in CCFL. If there is, does anyone know of the ETA for this panel. I would buy the T500 right now if it came with the WSXGA+ LED screen, but if it is never going to happen until maybe like the T501, I'll just go for the T400 right now.

TIA!

I don't know apart from suggesting you look around and see if any other manufacturers offer a WSXGA+ LED backlit screen. If nobody has any, then I suspect your chances are low of seeing one soon on a Lenovo.

Simple answer. No body knows when or if the LED backlight will appear for the t500.
My personal opinion is that it is back ordered from a supplier and will appear soon. There has been a rumor that more options are appearing at the end of the month.
If you really want the LED back light and 14 inch is ok then I would go for the t400 now. If the 15 in screen is important I would wait a few weeks.
Also I thought the t500 was coming with WXGA LED screen not WSXGA+ LED screen.

No one is offering a 15.4" WSXGA+ LED monitor.

No one has offered a 15.4" WSXGA+ LED backlit so far, and as far as I know, no one is planning on doing so.

The 15.4" LED backlit screens that you can find from others are either WXGA+, which has been around for some time now, or the new WUXGA RGB LED screens announced by Dell.

That was what we talked about... (The HP's 17" DreamColor is WUXGA RGB LED as well)

The WUXGA dual lamp screen is an interesting option too.

Yes, it's dual lamp, but the one on their site right now is just the regular 200 nits WUXGA screen they offer for the Latitude D830/Precision M4300, even the price is the same.

So, now I'm sure if they will offer a dual lamp screen at all, there is nothing about it on the site. Dunno, someone to try to talk to them...
