I love my LED screen, I haven't looked back at the price (I from Canada as well)

I compared it to the current gen HP and Toshiba that my friends own and it was worth the extra cash. If you're not going to put yourself in debt go for it.

Right... you probably havn't even seen an LED display yourself.

LED seriously does make a world of a difference. Looking at your LED display will make every other display that you thought was good, bad, dim, and in the dark. It is definitely something that will make you go "WOW".

Having to decide between whether to get WUXGA or WXGA+ LED, there is no regrets to be had going with the WXGA+ LED despite being a WSXGA+ user. The screen quality is just jawdropping.

i decided to talk to a rep on DELL.CA in a live chat and from what i found from him and over the internet is DONT WASTE THE MONEY !

yes the WLED is a lil better however it is certainly not worth $150
you will save some battery with it but Display quality would be the same , i ordered mine without it and i would suggest you the same
Funny, I talked to a dell representative as well and he told me the exact same thing. He said if your surfing the internet, using word, or even watching a movie the difference is minimal at best.

He honestly told me that there is no HUGE difference like some of the others assert. That being said, I have yet to see the LED in person to judge for myself so I'm not 100% sure. Based on the fact that another member experienced the same opinion from a Dell rep I would say it can't be that great. IMO why would someone who sells a product lie about how good it is? If it were that great then the reps would be pressing people harder to purchase it.

If you do choose to get it I believe you should purchase it for the power saving benefits opposed to aesthetic purposes.

Exactly !

i have personally seen LED studio screen and its not much BETTER ! my friend has a WLED screen and after looking at his and a display STUDIO , thankfully i did not order mine with WLED
it is little bit brighter however The screen quality and resolution is nearly similar !

You would save close to 5 % on battery and Its lighter in weight , otherwise in functionality and Use , its pretty much same

also with WLED screen you would loose out on 2MP webcam

Wow you lose the camera option with the LED display? That sucks... that definitely would make me not want to upgrade lol

I don't know who you're talking to at Dell. The webcam is 2.0mp. It's illegal to "keep this a surprise until you receive your laptop". It's false advertisement. Those people on the Dell chat won't give you much info, they have preset lines for most questions and see pretty much what you see in the menu.

Also you said that "it is little bit brighter however The screen quality and resolution is nearly similar !"

Well "bit" is quite an underrated statement, I don't think you've actually seen the LED in action with full brightness. The resolution is higher with the LED unless you go for the model that's more expansive than the LED...

- Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800) [Included in Price]
- Hi Resolution/Bright, glossy widescreen 15.4 WLED display (1440x900) [add $150 or $4/month1]
- Hi Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1920x1200) [add $200 or $5/month1]

As for the quality an LED screen will last longer, won't suffer from brightness fading and is a more environmentally friendly choice.
