Re: Expected Availability of New HP notebooks
If they want to be competitive with Acer, they will price it at $1200. The 6920G (16") gemstone with Blu-Ray model was slightly over $1000 when my dad purchased it a few weeks ago. Although the CPU was only T5550, it had 3GB RAM, WD 320GB HD, 9500M GS 512MB, great screen, solid keyboard, fingerprint reader, webcam, and the works.

Re: Expected Availability of New HP notebooks
I'm going to be getting an HP Compaq for school this year. Do you think it's worth it to wait until the new laptops or announced or should I just go ahead and order one? I don't need the laptop right away but I will need it before I head to college in mid to late August.

There are 2 options:
- Wait until the back-to-school sales begin in July or early August. There should be a few deals springing up then.
- If you are looking for a tablet, the HP TX2500Z has a coupon reducing the price by $500. Use the code: NB4796 (see this NBR page for details)

Re: Expected Availability of New HP notebooks
I'm also in the same boat as Startacus. I'm debating on whether to wait for the dv5t line (really want the 1680x1050 resolution). However, the 6700t offers exactly what I need and with the $500 coupon offered currently, it may be worth to purchase a notebook now and forget about the dv5 series.
Tough choices...

Re: Expected Availability of New HP notebooks
I would order by the end of the month. Shipping delays can take up to a month (hopefully shipping within 2-3 weeks) but you never know. If you need it absolutely by a certain date, it would be good to plan ahead. If the new line comes out before then, go for it, but once you've reached the one-month-before-you-absolutely-need-it date, then you have to make the decision to buy then or take a chance or not get it in time.

If anything you definately wont be able to buy them from HP until Intel officially releases the platform or maybe a week before if some retailers choose to do so.

If Intel announces the new platform on the 14th will HP be selling/shipping the new lines immediately or is there going to be some delays?
